Hello LEGO train builders! The Brick Train Awards is back and accepting entries from 1st – 30th September 2026.

The awards are a virtual, worldwide event for LEGO and brick train builders, and a great time to showcase what the LEGO/brick train fan community has been building.

Here’s a quick video overview from Richard on how the awards work, how to enter, and the changes we have made this year.

Changes to Brick Train Awards 2026

  • We have now removed gauge restrictions are removed for loco and wagon categories – so models no longer have to be built for the LEGO gauge track.
  • We now accept models built from LEGO-compatible brands as well (somehow forgot this in the audio!) – this aims to make the event more inclusive for brick train builders, and also removes some burden from our judges – it’s very hard to tell for sure if 700 models use only LEGO bricks! The Purist category remains for anyone wanting to build and compete only with LEGO brick models!
  • You can now add a video link to your entry to add extra content for people viewing your model
  • We can now flag winners and honourable mentions in the category view and listings – you can see 2024’s winners are flagged, and the Brick Train Awards admin team will be updating entries from past years in time too
  • The Brick Train Awards Twitter / X account is no longer active this year. You can follow every entry posted the Brick Train Awards Instagram, Facebook and Bluesky accounts
  • We added some guidance for use of Artificial Intelligence in the awards. Using AI is OK for image editing (eg adding a background), but AI is not accepted for model creation – the whole point of the awards is to showcase what humans can design and build!

Entering the Brick Train Awards 2026

You can enter up to three models per category on the Brick Train Awards website between 1st and 30th September 2026. Entries will close at midnight on 30th September in your timezone. Entering models is completely free!
