Our LEGO model railway displays

LUKR wouldn’t be much of a LEGO train club if we didn’t also build landscapes out of LEGO bricks for our LEGO locomotives and rolling stock to run on!

LNUR and our members have a wide variety of LEGO model railway displays for display, from narrow gauge layouts to mainline and branch line layouts, set in a variety of eras from the golden age of steam locomotives to British Railways and modern era.

We also have our “playout” – a drive your own LEGO train display which is hugely popular at LEGO and model railway displays.

Our current LEGO railway displays

Northern club layout

The northern layout, also known as the Brick Coast Main Line, is the collaborative northern club layout built for exhibitions from 2022 onwards. Modules include the LEGO Forth Bridge model.

Southern club layout

The Southern club layout is a collaborative LEGO railway display built by members of LSUR.

Drive your own LEGO train - LNUR “Playout”

Darren’s drive your own LEGO train “playout” is a popular sight at LEGO and model railway shows alike – a perfect chance for kids young and old to have a go at driving LEGO trains.

Ambridge & Brickley Branchline

The Ambridge & Brickley Branchline railway is a collaborative layout which is compatible with the northern club layout.

Billingate

Billingate is the layout of member Will, aka Block Junction, created with the aim of creating a model railway display from LEGO bricks.

Brick End Railway

Brick End Railway is Ben’s personal layout, featuring automation and lots of interactivity for visitors!

Bridge Street

Bridge Street is Nicola’s exhibition layout, with an illuminated street scene, and canal raised on an embankment.

Didcot

Didcot is a mini-scale LEGO representation of Didcot Railway Centre, built by Sarah.

Eddingham

Eddingham is the layout of Ed Doubtfire, and is a modern image station in the vein of York or Newcastle.

Goosander Halt

Goosander Halt is Jamie’s personal layout, based on a heritage line with a shed and small station.

Hayling North

Hayling North is a LEGO recreation of the real railway on the Hayling Island line, built by Rory.

Henry's Shunting Layout

Henry’s Shunting Layout is a LEGO railway display designed for shunting operations.

Inglenook

The Inglenook is Levi’s take on the popular shunting puzzle built from LEGO bricks.

Jamie's Narrow Gauge Layout

Jamie’s Narrow Gauge Layout is a LEGO-built narrow gauge railway display, with trains automated to run and stop at the station.

Rectory Lane

Rectory Lane is Andy’s London Underground LEGO railway layout. Plenty of detail to see – the longer the look, the more you see!

Richard's DUPLO layout

Richard’s DUPLO train layout provides a burst of colour with DUPLO-built trains and scenery.

Seacoastia

Seacoastia is Jamie and Robin’s collaborative train layout, featuring a busy town scene.

Tunbrick Wells West

Tunbrick Wells West is Levi’s recreation of the Spa Valley railway terminus from LEGO bricks.

Vintage Town Layout

The Vintage Town Layout is a collaborative vintage LEGO town display with 12V trains, built by Jonathan, Jules and Nicola.
