LEGO trains at Severn Valley Brick Weekend 2026
Members of LUKR from across the country congregated in the West Midlands at the weekend at Highley Engine House on the Severn Valley Railway.
Our Severn Valley Brick Weekend was back for its third year, featuring LEGO model displays with a heavy railway and train theme, plus a brilliant gothic church built almost entirely in black by @toms8wide, LEGO robot wars, planes by Jack and Tom, and Pemberley House by Katie. Our play table was provided by Bricks McGee – many thanks as this kept visitors building for hours!
Other models on display a collaborative branchline railway measuring almost 30 metres in length, a vintage LEGO blue rail era layout, Tim’s GWR inspired layout, Robin and Jamie’s Seacoastia layout, David’s 9V LEGO railway, and our southern club railway layout.
Trophy winners at Severn Valley Brick Weekend 2026
As in last years, we awarded trophies to a number of categories at Severn Valley Brick Weekend this year. These were largely selected by SVR staff – thanks for your help!
- Best locomotive – Tim’s BR class 25 won best locomotive at the show this year.
- Best wagon – Henry’s Cadbury van won best wagon at the show. It looked very smart in dark red!
- Best scenery – SVR staff selected David’s pizzeria model as their pick for the best scenery this year
- Best “Not A Train” – we are a Lego train club, but we do love all things LEGO, and our “Not A Train” trophy went to Chris’ Crooked House – a great model of a landmark fairly local to the venue.
- Best photograph went to Tom for his photograph of his LEGO locomotive on a bridge.
- Best load on a flat wagon – an obscure one this year – and Tim won again with his scaled LEGO car models
- SVR special prize – SVR’s own pick went to Jonathan’s vintage LEGO ferris wheel – brilliantly done, and working, too.
A big thanks to anyone who visited us, plus our exhibitors, volunteers, and Karen and Dawn at SVR. We hope to return next year! In the meantime, our next club event will be a smaller affair at Watercress Bricks in Hampshire.
